A Dedicated Advocate In Your Time Of Need

Helping You Navigate An Uncertain Time With Confidence

Making Decisions That Will Affect Your Family Forever

Family law can be an especially stressful area. Your family is changing, and there are many questions unanswered. What will happen to your children? Your family home? Your retirement benefits?

The answers to these questions can have lifelong impact not only on you, but also on your loved ones, including your children. You need representation who understands the stakes and will work hard to ensure that you receive the results you want.

I Bring Unique Experience To Your Case

My name is Susan Winterberger. I dedicate my practice to family law, with a special emphasis in military family law matters.

I offer a full array of family law services, including:

  • Divorce, both military and civilian. As the daughter of a retired service member and the mother of three children, two of whom currently serve in the military, I have seen how being a service member can complicate legal matters. I have experience in handling divorces for service members and can manage the situation for you.
  • Child custody and visitation. This is often the first question any parent will have when going through a divorce. Though commonly called “child custody and visitation,” the legal terms in Florida for these issues are “parental responsibility and time-sharing.”
  • Child and spousal support. Alimony or child support can affect your finances for years. I can evaluate your situation to see if you may be eligible to pay or receive support, and help you pursue it if it is necessary.
  • Division of marital assets, including military benefits. You have worked hard to grow your assets, including real estate. For service members, military benefits, such as retirement accounts and pensions, are often the most valuable assets in a divorce. I can help you protect your assets and ensure that your interests are protected.
  • Modifications of support and custody. In some cases, situations will change after the initial order is made.
  • Child relocations. Florida statue governs when a child may relocate greater than 50 miles after an order is entered regarding timesharing.
  • Dependency. Through my work in child welfare, I often represent both parents and special needs children. My practice in this area has been recognized by the Florida Statewide Guardian Ad Litem Office.

Family law matters can be stressful. I have the skill and experience necessary to handle your case efficiently and effectively, giving you the peace of mind you need during this time.
